Frequent Questions About Transferring Plans
Can any pre-arrangement be transferred?
Most insurance-funded and trust-funded pre-arrangements can be transferred. We’ll review your documents and confirm the details with the issuing company.
Will I lose any benefits?
No, the funds and benefits belong to you. Any guarantees or special terms are honored according to the original contract.
Do I need to call the other funeral home?
No. With your permission, our staff will handle all notifications and paperwork.
Can I make changes to my selections?
Yes. You can update service preferences, music, merchandise, or religious rites. If your original plan had guaranteed pricing on specific items, we’ll review how changes may affect those guarantees.
What about Medicaid-approved (irrevocable) plans?
Many can be moved; we’ll help ensure the transfer complies with Iowa regulations and the terms of the policy.
