Tim Olson – Licensed Funeral Director
Tim Olson was born in Belmond, Iowa, and developed an early passion for funeral service,
inspired by his grandfather and uncle who served the Forest City community with dedication for
over 64 years.
After graduating from North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) and the Dallas Institute of
Funeral Service, Tim completed his apprenticeship in Keokuk and became a licensed funeral
director. He began serving families in Mount Pleasant in 1991. In 1998, Tim, alongside his wife
Sally, made a lasting commitment to the Mount Pleasant community by building the current
Olson-Yoder Funeral Home on Mapleleaf Drive. Although Tim officially retired in 2020, he
continues to serve part-time, offering the same compassionate care that has defined his career.
Tim is a 40-year member of the Kiwanis Club, serves on the Festival of Lights Committee, and is

Theresa Rose – Funeral Assistant

Theresa Rose began working part-time with Charlie and Morgan Yoder in 2023, after retiring
from a long and distinguished career in broadcasting. A familiar voice in the community, Theresa
spent many years at KILJ Radio in Mount Pleasant, working in several capacities but primarily
as news director and on-air personality.
A Mount Pleasant native, Theresa graduated from Mount Pleasant High School before earning a
degree in Journalism and Mass Communications from the University of Iowa. Community
service is important to Theresa. She serves on the Mount Pleasant Public Library Board of
Directors, the Mount Pleasant School Foundation Board of Directors, and the Henry County
Extension Council.
Family is also a big part of her life. She has three grown sons, two grandchildren and a large
extended family that she loves spending time with. Theresa feels the opportunity to help Yoders
serve area families combines the importance she places on family and community. Plus, it takes
her back to her roots when her great grandfather, R.K. Crane, provided funeral services in Mount
Pleasant 100 years ago.
