Mary Kathryn Hill

Mary Kathryn Hill, 77, of Mount Pleasant died Sunday, August 30, 2026, at Park Place Elder Living.

Mary was born on September 13, 1948, in Mount Pleasant, the daughter of Edward and Mary Catherine (Smith) Lampe. She graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in 1966 and continued her education at St. Joseph School of Nursing in Ottumwa. On May 18, 1968, Mary was united in marriage to Marvin Hill at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. Mary worked as an LPN at the Mental Health Institute, Mount Pleasant Correctional Facility, various nursing homes, and for Dr. Nordyke in Winfield. She had an in-home daycare for several years. Mary was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. She enjoyed taking trips camping and time spent at their cabin on the Skunk River. Mary treasured time with her family.

Mary is survived by three sons Michael (Nicci) Hill of New London, Marcus (Jenny) Hill of Lexington, KY, Matthew (Becky) Hill of Mount Pleasant; seven grandchildren Justin Hill, Kyle (Callee) Hill, Darin Hill, Dalton (Brylee) Hill, Brooke (Clark) Barrington, Cogan (Kensey) Hill, Olivia Hill; nine great grandchildren; and a sister-in-law Cathy Lampe. She was preceded in death by her parents, and four siblings and their spouses; Evelyn (Bob) Roth, Glen Lampe, Ellen (Ken) Reynolds, and Everett Lampe.

Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 4, 2026, at the Olson-Yoder Funeral Home. Rev. Ed Fitzpatrick will officiate. Burial will follow in the Forest Home Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until time of service on Friday. A memorial fund has been established for Park Place Elder Living. The Olson-Yoder Funeral Home is caring for Mary and her family.
