Mary Anne Meyer

MOUNT PLEASANT- Mary Anne (Anne) Meyer, 96, of Mount Pleasant, died Monday, March 25, 2024, at Park Place Elder Living where her wry sense of humor was appreciated.

Anne was born February 28, 1928, in Baltimore, MD, the daughter of William J. and Helen Mary (Foley) Cook. She graduated from high school and continued her education at Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, in Baltimore, graduating in 1948. In 1954, Anne was united in marriage to William A. Meyer, Jr. Anne worked as a nurse for more than 35 years. She lived in Maryland until moving to Iowa in 2004 and was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church.

Anne is survived by her two children and their spouses; William A. and Mary Jean Meyer of Baltimore, MD, Mary Anne and Thomas Bainbridge of Mount Pleasant; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a sister and a brother.

According to her wishes her body will be cremated and she will be laid to rest next to her husband in the New Cathedral Cemetery in Baltimore. The Olson-Powell Chapel & Crematory is caring for Anne and her family.
