Gilbert "Bub" Patterson

Gilbert C. "Bub" Patterson, 86, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, died Friday, October 31, 2008, at the Henry County Health Center. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at the Olson - Powell Memorial Chapel in Mt. Pleasant, IA, with the Rev. Jeff McPheron officiating. Mr. Patterson's body has been cremated. Inurnment will be in the Champion Hill Cemetery of rural Wellman, IA, at a later date. Born January 9, 1922, in Iowa County, IA, Gilbert Carroll was the son of William and Cora May (Wade) Patterson. He received his education at the Pilotburg Country School in Lime Creek Township. Bub worked as a welder for many years. He was employed by Heatilator (now Hearth and Home Technologies). Later he worked for M H Welding and Boldt Welding and Automotive. He enjoyed all the activities at Midwest Old Threshers and participating in the coffee groups around town. Survivors include a sister-in-law, Alice Patterson of Keota, IA, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Homer E. "Pat" Patterson; a sister, Mosella Patterson who died in infancy; and by two half sisters, Elsie Parker and Effie Curl.
