Donald Ensminger

Donald "Bullet" Dean Ensminger, 70, of Mt. Pleasant, IA died unexpectedly on Monday, July 18, 2011, at the Henry County Health Center. Born on December 27, 1940, in Rome, IA, Donnie was the son of Frank and Marie (Anderson) Ensminger. He attended school in the Mt. Pleasant Community School District. On September 18, 1965, he married Janet Elaine Hoover in Mt. Pleasant. A life-long resident of the Mt. Pleasant area, Donnie worked as a heavy equipment operator for Cessford Construction for over 40 years and as well as being a lifelong farmer. In his early years, he spent a great deal of time playing softball and basketball. Donnie loved his family and treasured the time they spent together. Survivors include his wife; three children, Elizabeth (Larry) Fleagle of Wellman, IA, Darin (Carrie) Ensminger of Mt. Pleasant, IA, and Marsha (Casey) Ensminger-Wandling of Hillsboro, OR; three brothers, Jack (Saundra) Ensminger of Lockridge, IA, Wendell Ensminger of Lockridge, IA, and Randy (Eileen) Ensminger of Mt. Pleasant, IA; one sister, Janice (Tom) Daniels of Chattanooga, TN; one sister-in-law, Penny Ensminger of Mt. Pleasant, IA; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Dennis Ensminger.
